Tipper Driver, Daily Labourer Get YSRCP MLA Tickets: CM Jagan Proves as the People's Leader

In Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to offer tickets for drivers and coolies for the upcoming elections. This move is seen as revolutionary as it is different from the traditional practice of offering seats to people from political backgrounds.

The decision to nominate individuals from humble professions like drivers and coolies challenges the prevailing notion that their lives should solely revolve around poverty. It raises thought-provoking questions about whether individuals from such communities have political aspirations. Historically, people from these sections of society have never even dared to dream of making it big in politics.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier given seats to many ordinary workers in the legislatures and continued the same trend this time too.  His visionary approach became a reality with the success stories of individuals like Gotetti Madhavi and Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh, who emerged from modest backgrounds to serve as elected representatives during the 2019 elections. Madhavi even won as an MP from Araku while Nandigam Suresh secured an MP seat from Bapatla. This trend continued in the recent local body elections and many poor people and even volunteers were elected as sarpanches.

Veeranjaneyulu, a tipper driver from Singanamala has been given a chance to become the MLA in the upcoming elections. He says that he will work tirelessly to win as an MLA and stand before the CM.

Similarly, Eera Lakkappa, a coolie from Madakasira, has been fielded as an MLA. Even Lakkappa, who was staying in Indiramma's house during YS Rajasekhar Reddy's regime, could not believe that he had become an MLA candidate.

Now, he proudly calls himself a Jagananna's representative. He said, "We believe in the welfare and development schemes brought by CM Jagan. It's like people like us get a chance to be sarpanches. If such a thing is making us MLAs,  what else do the poor people want".. They are amazed at how much Jagananna is fond of the workers who believe in the party.

In contrast, the Telugu Desam Party only grants its tickets to the people belonging to the affluent parts of the society.  In the TDP's list of 128 assembly seats, Naidu has given seats to his community and wealthy candidates from other communities. The opposition party didn't give tickets to BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities.

On the other hand, YSRCP has allocated half of its seats to these marginalized groups, showing CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's inclusive approach. By extending opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds, he is not only democratizing the political landscape but also fostering a culture of representation that resonates with the common people.
