Srikakulam: Taking potshots at the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for conspiring to stop welfare schemes and hindering the volunteer services, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the opposition can stop the state government’s welfare schemes but not the ruling YSRC party’s success in the next week’s elections.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Ichchapuram town of Srikakulam district on Wednesday, CM Jagan said after coming to power, the YSRCP government would set up a tribal university in Salur town of Parvathipuram Manyam district. He also said that the cell phone connectivity is being expanded to more tribal areas in the region.

Explaining the initiatives of his regime, CM Jagan said the YSRCP government deposited a whopping Rs. 2.70 lakh crore into the bank accounts of beneficiaries without any hint of corruption or discrimination during the last 59 months. 2.31 lakh government jobs were also created during the same period, he added.

Highlighting the YSRCP regime’s steps for the development of North Andhra districts, the chief minister said the government carved out three more districts from the existing three districts as part of its decentralisation exercise. He exuded confidence that the ruling party will regain power on June 4, 2024 and his swearing-in ceremony as CM will be held at Visakhapatnam - the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh.
