Srisailam Dam Water Level Reaches to Danger Mark

Srisailam: The water levels in the Srisailam reservoir has greatly increased due to the recent heavy rains. The flood flow to the Srisailam reservoir has also increased. In addition to this, it has been raining in the self-catchment area which in turn will increase the water flow into the project. With this, 2,02,899 cusecs of is water coming into the Srisailam Dam from Jurala Project and Sunkesula Barrage.

78,289 cusecs of water is being discharged to Nagarjuna Sagar dam through two powerhouses after power generation from the dam. In a similar way,12,000 cusecs of water is being discharged to Pothireddypadu head regulator from backwater, and 2,026 cusecs for Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project mainstream, 1,848 cusecs of water is being discharged to the Kalwakurthy lift irrigation scheme.

It's worth mentioning here that 5.80 mm of rainfall was recorded in the vicinity of the Srisailam reservoir. From Tuesday to Wednesday, 12.971 million units of power was generated from the right-wing and 19.721 million units of power generated from the left-wing. The dam has water storage of 210.9 TMC and currently, the water level has reached 884.20 feet.
