YS Jagan Calls For Jallikattu-Like Unity In Taming Centre On Special Category Status

YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday called for unity across the political spectrum to fight for achieving special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

"Let's take inspiration from Jallikattu agitation and stand united to achieve our right. Special category status is the only way to develop the state and improve the employment situation. It is shameful that the chief minister himself, instead of supporting the demand, is sabotaging a people's movement," he told reporters after returning from Vizag.

Chandrababu should hang his head in shame for resorting such a sabotage and for trampling the spirit of democracy on Republic Day which conferred on us the Constitutional rights, he said. He is so shameless that he is boasting of development when thousands of industries are closing in the state. Special status is the only way industries can be encouraged and employment will be provided to the youths of the state, he said.

YS Jagan appealed to all political parties and people of the state to participate in dharnas being organised at all mandal offices across the state on Friday.
