Kara OTT Release: When and Where to Watch Dhanush’s Action Thriller

Dhanush’s latest film Kara is now preparing for its OTT release after completing its theatrical run. Directed by Vignesh Raja, who earlier impressed audiences with Por Thozhil, the movie released in theatres on April 30, 2026. Actress Mamitha Baiju played the female lead opposite Dhanush. Veteran actors K. S. Ravikumar and Jayaram appeared in important supporting roles.

The film created decent buzz before release because of its trailer, action scenes, and Dhanush’s intense look. However, after release, Kara received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. While some viewers appreciated the performances and visuals, others felt the film did not fully meet expectations at the box office.

Following its theatrical run, Netflix acquired the digital streaming rights for a huge amount. According to reports, the rural action thriller is expected to premiere on Netflix on May 28, 2026. However, the makers have not officially announced the streaming date yet.

The movie is expected to stream in multiple languages, including Tamil and Telugu, making it accessible to a wider audience across India.

Kara was produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International in association with Think Studios. The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Theni Eswar and editor Sreejith Sarang. Popular music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar composed the songs and background score for the movie.

Fans who missed watching Kara in theatres are now eagerly waiting for its OTT release. With Dhanush in the lead role and the film arriving on Netflix soon, the movie is expected to attract strong attention from digital audiences.
