'We won't forefeit authority on Hyderabad'

Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma met Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan on Saturday. They have discussed the issue of powers of governor on the joint capital city of Hyderabad.

In the meeting, it is reported that Rajiv Sharma raised some objections on the authority of Centre in Greater Hyderabad.

Rajiv Sharma reportedly clarified to governor that state government won’t leave authority on Hyderabad at any cost.

It may be recalled that Central Government wrote a letter to Telangana government that governor alone will have special powers in common capital limits. Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao outrightly rejected the orders.  He immediately asked Chief Secretary to write a letter on the issue to centre.

In light of this, the meeting assumed significance.
