Hyderabad: Telangana Government’s Excise department which opened doors for huge income with its new liquor policy, had received nearly 41,000 applications till Wednesday, October 17 which was the last date for applications given by the Telangana government. Telangana's New liquor policy will be effective from November 1, 2019, to November 1, 2021.

The Telangana Government is focussed to increase alcohol sales to gain huge profits and to drastically increase the revenue of the state as liquor is the main source of income to the state.

KCR led Telangana Rashtra Samithi government has increased the non-refundable application fee from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh which is double the previous amount. This did not have any effect on the people of Telangana, and huge number of applications have been received in Telangana.

The Exercise department created a record in 2017 by receiving 41,000 applications and gained an income of 410 crores, through a non-refundable application fee.

In 2019, the Exercise department received 42,905 applications but the revenue generated will be double when compared to 2017 due to an increase in the non-refundable application fee. Finally, the Telangana new liquor policy scheme yielded fruitful results to the CM KCR government.

Of the 42,905 applications filled in Telangana for new liquor policy, some applications were received from people of Andhra Pradesh.

For the complete 2,216 liquor shops in Telangana state about 42,905 applications had been received, Telangana Exercise department are to finally choose the shop owners through a lottery system on Friday, October 18, and will announce the winners of the lottery.
