Singareni Passenger Train To Restart Services From October 6

Kothagudem: Singareni Passenger train which was stopped seven months ago by the Central government to cut down the expenses, will restart its services from October 6 from Bhadrachalam Road Railway Station to Sirpur Kaghaznagar.

The ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalled the services of the train and a push-pull train was started in its place as a part of cost-saving operations by the South Central Railways. But passengers traveling between Kothagudem to Sirpur-Kaghaznagar stations had suffered due to this decision by the Central government. Seven months of struggle ended with this decision of the Central government to reinstate its services for the convenience of the passengers.

It is reported that passengers had submitted letters to railway officials who came to the Bhadrachalam road (Kothagudem) railway station and asked for the reinstating of its services. Opposition parties also extended their support to the passengers and demanded that the Government restore Singareni Passenger train services. Finally, the Central government relented to the passenger's demand and South Central railway authorities has announced that Singareni Passenger will restart its services from October 6.

"The Singareni Passenger train will run with 14 coaches as in the past and there will be no changes in the timings of the train", said the Bhadrachalam road railway station administrative officer , Kiran Kumar.
