Hyderabad: Monsoon has just arrived and already the roads of Hyderabad have witnessed massive waterlogging resulting in traffic jams. The city's IT corridor Cyberabad is most affected, but other areas are too facing waterlogging issue.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has listed 123 areas in the city where water gets logged. The areas fall under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police commissionerates.
The reasons for such road plight is flyover work in progress, stagnation of water range from congested roads, overflowing drains and several construction in low-lying areas. Manholes have also been blocked with debris in many areas.
The GHMC had categorised the waterlogging points as A,B,C grades depending on the severity. Around 495 monsoon teams have been deployed in the streets to ease traffic woes.
