Hyderabad: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced results were announced on Friday and three students from Telangana have figured in the top 10 ranks. They are Gillella Akash Reddy, Battepati Karthikeya and Thivesh Chandra M who bagged fourth, fifth and eighth ranks respectively.
D Chandrasekhara SS Hethahavya from Hyderabad had topped the General EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category. Two students, Amit Rajaraman and Gumparthi Venkata Krishna Surya Likhith bagged all-India 12th and 13th ranks respectively and were among the top five in Hyderabad.
Notably, D Rajesh from Telangana had secured first rank in persons with disabilities (PWD-EWS) category.
The results of JEE (Advanced), 2019 were announced by the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee yesterday. Gupta Kartikey Chandresh of Ballarpur in Maharashtra came first in Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE (Advanced) 2019. He obtained 346 out of 372 marks. Shabnam Sahay is the topper among female candidates, with CRL 10. She obtained 308 out of 372 marks.
Of the total number 1,61,319 candidates who appeared in both paper one and two of the exam, 38,705 have cleared the exam.
Of the successful candidates, 5,356 are females.
Of the top 100 all-India rank holders, 26 are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In that 22 students are from Telangana and from Hyderabad and the rest four are from Andhra Pradesh.
