Bandi Sai Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, was taken into police custody on Friday evening in connection with a POCSO case. The arrest was carried out by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) shortly after the Telangana High Court declined to grant interim protection in the matter.

According to police officials, Bhageerath was apprehended near the Police Academy area in Narsingi and later shifted to Pet Basheerabad Police Station for further investigation. Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M Ramesh Reddy confirmed the development in an official statement.

The case has drawn significant political attention across Telangana, with reports suggesting that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed authorities to proceed strictly according to the law and ensure a transparent investigation.

Meanwhile, Bandi Sanjay released a detailed statement saying that his son voluntarily cooperated with the police through legal representatives and appeared before the authorities for questioning. He reiterated that everyone is equal before the law, irrespective of status or position.

The Union Minister stated that his son has denied all allegations and maintains that he has not committed any wrongdoing. He further mentioned that after discussions with legal experts and reviewing available evidence, the family was advised to address the issue through the judicial process.

Despite legal proceedings still being underway and further court orders expected next week, Bandi Sanjay said the family decided not to avoid the investigation process. He also expressed confidence in the judiciary, saying justice may take time but will ultimately prevail.

The incident has now become a major political and legal talking point in Telangana, with both ruling and opposition parties closely watching the developments in the case.
