Nalgonda: Telangana caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) today announced in his address at a public meet in the district that the financial assistance to the farmers through the Rythu Bandhu scheme would be delivered to the beneficiaries in the State starting Friday. He added that the Election Commission gave a nod for providing the assistance, despite the Congress's leaders' efforts to stall the scheme.

KCR said that Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy's plea to the EC for stopping the government from providing the cheques was rejected. "The EC asked the Congress not to stop the farmers from getting the assistance. We will give away the cheques from tomorrow," he added.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy criticized that the Nalgonda public meeting was held in a small playground keeping in mind the fact that not many people would attend. If KCR goes on to speak the way he did in the Nizamabad meeting, the TRS will lose deposits in all the 12 constituencies in the district, he remarked.
