Sugriva Fame Balu Charan's Next is High-Concept Horror-Thriller!

Actor and producer Balu Charan is all set to explore a completely new genre. After making an impression as a lead actor with the suspenseful family-action drama Sugriva, he has now signed an upcoming horror-thriller as the main lead.

The film has already entered pre-production in Hyderabad. The team is currently working on set designs, script polishing and the overall sound and atmosphere of the film. The makers are planning to make an official announcement soon, revealing the director, production banner, heroine and other key members of the technical team.

A New Genre For Balu Charan

Unlike Sugriva, which focused on family emotions, action and an underworld backdrop, the new film will take Balu Charan into the supernatural space.

The horror-thriller is said to feature intense sequences, jump scares and a mystery-driven storyline. The makers are aiming for a grounded treatment while keeping the audience engaged with plenty of suspense and tension.

Location scouting, casting for important supporting roles and technical preparations are currently underway. Regular shooting is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

From Character Roles To Lead Hero

Balu Charan's journey in Telugu cinema has been one of steady hard work and perseverance. Coming from a farming family in Palakollu in West Godavari district, he entered the film industry in 2006 with Godava.

He later appeared in character and supporting roles in films such as Mirapakay, Bangaru Babu, Ankit Pallavi & Friendsand Lava Kusa.

Alongside acting, Charan also entered film distribution and production through Hanuman Media Movies. He was associated with films including Super Machi, Katha Kanchiki Manam Intiki, Nene Naa, Garuda 2.0 and Kalaratri.

Appreciation For Sugriva

In Sugriva, Balu Charan played Bala Subramanyam, a desperate father who goes to extreme lengths to save his critically injured daughter from a crime syndicate. The character required him to undergo physical training, including gymnastics, adding another challenging dimension to his performance.

His sincere performance received appreciation from both critics and audiences.

Now, with the upcoming horror-thriller, Balu Charan is once again choosing a different path instead of following a routine commercial formula. The project could give him an opportunity to explore a new side of his acting abilities.
