Chennai, Mar 28 (IANS) Shibu Thameens, the producer of director S U Arun Kumar’s explosive action entertainer Veera Dheera Sooran, featuring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead, has now clarified that the delay in the film’s release was not due to any financial problem faced by the producers as was claimed by some on social media.
Producer Shibu Thameens, who is now heaving a sigh of relief with the film well on its way to becoming an emphatic success, took to X to explain what had caused the delay in releasing the film.
He wrote, “Apologies to #Vikram sir #SUArunkumar the crew, distributors, exhibitors, fans and the entire audience for the delay in release. Just to clarify and stop the gossips, this is not due to producers financial problem. The OTT right holder (outright sale) couldn’t able to sell their rights before the theatrical release. To safe guard their investment, #VDS was stopped at the last moment and renegotiated. Thanks to all who stepped in and supported whole-heartedly especially #kathiresan ( TFPC) #Arulpathy ( TFAPA) Thank God #VeeraDheeraSooran2 making huge noise.(sic)”
Fans and the general audience were in for disappointment on Thursday as the film’s morning and noon shows had to be cancelled due to a court order that restrained the makers from releasing the film.
The court order was passed on a plea filed by the production company B4U over certain issues it had with the production house HR Pictures.
However, by Thursday evening, the producers, HR Pictures, resolved the issue and announced that theatrical screenings for the film had begun worldwide.
‘Veera Dheera Sooran’, which has an ensemble star cast including Chiyaan Vikram, S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Dushara Vijayan, had its second part released first.
While the film has cinematography by Theni Eswar, it has music by G V Prakash Kumar. Editing has been taken care of by G.K. Prasanna. Art direction for the film is by C.S. Balachandar. Riya Shibu of HR Pictures is producing this film, which is an edge-of-the-seat action thriller.
