Jana Nayagan was originally expected to release earlier in the year, but the launch was postponed after delays related to certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The production also faced another setback when the movie was reportedly leaked online before its official release. Despite these challenges, the film finally reached theatres on July 23, opening on nearly 1,000 screens across Tamil Nadu.

Advance bookings were exceptionally strong, with tickets selling out quickly in many locations.

Vijay's Farewell to Cinema
