Tadepalli: Demanding a probe into the assets of Jana Sena chief, YSRCP leader Pothina Venkata Mahesh said Pawan Kalyan has furnished incorrect information in his election affidavit. He said the Jana Sena leader has bought the properties after taking a ‘package’ from his TDP ally Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking to Sakshi TV, Pothina Mahesh said the election commission should investigate Pawan Kalyan’s disproportionate assets case. He said the opposition leader should explain how he purchased the properties worth Rs 90 crore while his earning is only Rs 20 crore. He said Pawan Kalyan has acted in only 4 films between 2018 and 2024 and two of his films were bombed at the box office. The actor-turned-politician should tell the truth about the assets worth Rs 450 crore, Mahesh said adding Pawan Kalyan should stop acting and start telling the truth to the people of the state. He added that Pawan Kalyan could not make much money in films but politics is proving to be a cash cow for him.

Earlier, addressing a media conference, Pothina Mahesh targeted Naidu for not contesting the elections on the development plank. He said chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is a man of words who has fulfilled every promise made to the electorate. The opposition alliance is fighting the elections to help the industrialists flourish while the poor people are at the centre of the ruling YSRC party’s election campaign, he added.
