AP Govt Attaches Chandrababu Naidu's Guest House

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government attached the guest house of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu which was built by businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh in the Undavalli. Sources said that the government took action under the Criminal Law Amendment Act, of 1944, after informing the local judge.

The authorities have taken action in the wake of the investigation of cases in which Chandrababu while he was the chief minister and  TDP leader P Narayana when he was a minister misused their positions and committed quid pro quo. There are allegations that the CRDA has committed irregularities in the master plan and inner ring road alignments and got Lingamaneni guesthouse on embankments. The investigation revealed that laws, Central Vigilance Commission guidelines, and general financial rules were completely violated.

They are also accused of using their positions to provide benefits to their relatives and close friends. There are allegations against Chandrababu that  favored the businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh and took a guest house in return. In this background, the CID asked the government to attach it under the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1944. With this, the state government has attached Chandrababu's guesthouse as per the law. Informing the local judge and attaching Lingamaneni Guest House.

Along with this guesthouse, the property and money in the bank accounts of Narayana's relatives have been attached by the CID. It has attached 75,880 square feet of properties belonging to Narayana's family members and his benamis. It includes properties of Narayana's wife Ramadevi and son-in-law Puneeth.

Chandrababu accumulated huge assets under Lingamaneni Ramesh's name. The alignment of the inner ring road has also been changed to benefit him. In order to increase the value of his assets, he changed the capital plan at the expense of the farmers. TDP leaders bought land in the capital region in the months of June, July, and August in the year 2015 for Rs.3.66 crores. The land was bought in the name of Potthuri Pramila, an employee of Narayana Vidya Sansthan, and Treasurer Rapuru Sambasiva Rao.
