Naidu has misplaced priorities, says Botsa

Demanding the TDP government to set its priorities right, YSR Congress has said the State has failed to initiate the steps for encouraging agriculture though the monsoon has set in but is pursuing its personal and political agenda leaving the farmers in the lurch.

“Though the monsoon has set in and agriculture operations are to begin, TDP government did not call for the SLBC meeting due last month to finalise the quantum of loans to be advanced to farmers and the smooth supply of seeds and other inputs but is trying to wriggle out from the scams it has been buried neck deep,” party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters on Tuesday.

The state has very different priorities and has been neglecting the agriculture sector as it did not hold a meeting to assess the forecast of the rainfall expected this season and the action plan there on from government side and how to save farmers and their yield.

“Not that the Chief Minister is not holding any meeting at all. He has been very busy in hold meetings with officials, cabinet colleagues and others but only to save his skin from the cash for vote scam and has been putting his personal and political interests above the people’s interests.Chandrababu Naidu is on record telling that agriculture is a waste and made a vain bid to take back those words..

The cabinet meetings were confined to issues other than agriculture and other welfare schemes and one wonders if there is any governance in the State, Perhaps it is the first time in the history of state banking that the target (agriculture loans) could not be achieved in the previous year due to the failure of Chandrababu Naidu fulfilling his promise of loan waiver,” he said adding that the TDP government is concentrating on electoral politics more than on developmental issues.

Chandrababu Naidu’s name has figured in the cash for vote scam as President of TDP and not as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. This should be clear and he doing many rounds to Raj Bhavan and Delhi is not in good taste and the Government too need not take up the issue with ministers talking tall, he said.
