Mahesh Fan, IIIT Student Commits Suicide

The student committed suicide inside the IIIT-H’s premises at Gachi Bowli

Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident, a student from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) has committed suicide inside the institute's premises at Gachi Bowli here. According to the details given by Gachi Bowli SI Chinthakayala Venkatesh, the student has been identified as Puli Sunand Kumar Reddy, aged 21, younger of the two sons of Puli Srinivas Reddy, Manager at Andhra Bank, and Mayuri, who live in Bengaluru.

An ardent Mahesh Babu fan, Sunand was a fourth year CSD student and stays in Old Boys Hostel in the campus.

After repeated calls drew no response, Sunand's friends Sai Sahith and Rohith continuously knocked his door, only to find him hanging from the ceiling fan at around 11.45 am on Thursday. The police have found two suicide notes left by Sunand at the location.

In one note, Sunand wrote to his parents, "Mom and Dad, I am leaving this world. I love both of you so much. But I do not like our relatives, who only approach us when in need. This is a problem in India."

In another note referring to Super star Mahesh Babu, he wrote, "I always watch your movies whenever I am depressed. I love you so much. You are my doctor, you have inspired me." The police stated that Sunand's room was filled with Mahesh Babu's posters.
