IIIT Girl Commits Suicide

Nuzivedu (Krishna): A female student at the prestigious IIIT here committed suicide by hanging herself to the fan in her hostel room.

The incident took place on Wednesday night when Veena used her dupatta to string herself to the fan in her room after locking the door from inside.

On Thursday morning her college mates who noticed her absence knocked on her door. As they did not receive any response from Veena and suspecting something to be amiss they pushed open the window and were shocked to see their college mate hanging from the fan.

The police, who were immediately notified soon arrived at the hostel. They moved the dead body to the government hospital for postmortem.

The reasons for Veena's suicide are not known. Police have registered a case and are investigating the same.
