Luxury SUV Test Drive Turns Fatal For Bengaluru Man
Bengaluru: Tragedy struck a 31-year-old businessman who got out of his house to test drive a luxury car, with his family, ended up in an accident that proved fatal for him.
The deceased was identified as Sagar J Rao, who on Tuesday Afternoon, and had headed to the Range Rover showroom to test drive the new Range Rover Evoque. While on the test drive the car met with a terrible accident.
The incident took place at the Nayandhalli toll gate on Nice Road. Nice road is a private toll road that is said to be the most accident-prone road in the city.
The police say that the car was traveling at a very high speed while it hit a divider in the middle of the road. The car then toppled in the air and landed in a 10-meter deep ditch.
The people said to be in the car was Sagar, his wife Sandhya (28), his son Samrath (6) their family friend and Sagar’s business partner Goutham (30) along with the representative from the Roopna Agrahara showroom Shivakumar. Sagar had died on his way to the hospital, while the rest in the car are getting treated for injuries.
“We have been told by Shivakumar that Goutham was driving the car, not Sagar. Going by the initial impact on the vehicle, it seems that it was a case of overspeeding.
The injured are still getting treatment,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Bengaluru Traffic West Soumyalatha SK told a leading news website. “We are investigating and obviously we will book the accused as per law in due course of time,” she added.
