Minor Girl Set Ablaze For Rejecting Love Proposal

Kurnool: In a brutal incident that took place in Kowthalam mandal of Kurnool district, a man attempted to murder a 12-year-old girl by setting her ablaze.

According to the details, the man, identified as Maulana Saheb had been harassing the girl in the pretext of love for the past few months.

While the girl rejected him on several occasions, he continued pursuing her relentlessly.

After getting refused again on Friday night, he poured petrol on the girl and set her on fire.

Hearing the girl's screams, the neighbours rushed in to help and took her to the nearby hospital.

The police have registered a case under the charges of Nirbhaya Act and attempted murder against the accused. Further details are awaited.
