Man Waits For 21 Days To Bury Mother’s Body As Per Customs!
Kolkata: A man lived with his mother's dead body for 18 days after her demise. The incident came to light on Sunday in Kolkata. When a foul odour started emanating from a house, the locals informed the police.
On Sunday, when the police broke the doors, Mythreya Bhattacharya (30) was seen sitting beside the rotten body of Krishna Bhattacharya (77). He said that she had died a week ago but the police believe that she died 18 days ago based on the decomposed state of the body.
The police took Mythreya into custody. During the investigation, the son said "We are converted christians, according to our tradition, we bury the body after 21 days and I am waiting for the date." Mythreya was unemployed after dropping out of MCA course. His mother retired as a teacher. His father was a doctor who died in a fire accident. The police filed a case of suspicous death. Mythreya and his mother used to live with his father's pension money.
