Vijayawada: A pedestrian was killed while crossing the road here on Sunday morning at Nidamanuru Raman Bhavan. The deceased was identified as Tanduri Sudarshan Reddy (16). According to the Patamata SI Satya Sudhakar, Sudarshan wanted to go outside as it was a Sunday. While crossing the road at Nidamanuru national highway, a mini lorry (AP 28 TE 0659) heading towards Vijayawada hit him. Sudarshan died on the spot on account of heavy bleeding.

The police sent the body to Vijayawada government hospital for post mortem. The lorry was seized and sent to the Patamata police station. The deceased was pursuing his Intermediate in Chaitanya college.

Recently, in a similar incident, two people were killed in a road accident at Vaddepalli. The family of Boya Narayana were returning from Jilledidhinne on a tractor. While on their way of Alampur-Rayachur national highway, suddenly, the driver lost control over the steering and the speeding tractor rammed into farming lands where the truck and engine both turtled. During the accident, Boya Maddileti (55) and Boya Venkateswaramma (30) died on the spot. The tractor was carrying 20 members and the driver Nagesh, his son Madhu, Seshamma, Rangamma and Venkateswaramma were severely injured and shifted to Kurnool private hospital for the treatment. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Alampur government hosiptal for post-mortem. The police has filed a case and are probing the matter.
