Vijayawada: Investigations in the Data Theft Case reveal that company had access and used huge volumes of data which was hitherto difficult to collect, unless detailed door-to-door data enumeration projects were conducted at a field level like that of a census.

Cyber and data security analysts say that a thorough breakdown of the software code used to develop the Sevamitra App developed by IT Grids Pvt Ltd for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) could reveal more details whether the company could have accessed or used the voters' data. Since the data was huge there was also need to check the servers where the data was apparently stored , which could be located in the United States.

Independent data analysts say that the Seva Mitra App was used by the TDP workers to collect details of voters belonging to the ruling party. The worker was called as a Seva Mitra and is assigned a polling booth where the individual would collect voters' details including caste, age , father's name and also his/her political preferences.

Along with these details , benefits of government schemes accessed, Aadhaar card number, voter ID number and bank account data of the Voter were synced. The consolidated list would then contain all the details including colour photographs, addresses and mobile numbers. It should be noted that the photographs of the voter ids are in black and white and are not in colour format.

Apparently the data was taken from various detailed surveys like cattle, farm ponds studies, details of loans availed by individuals through welfare schemes etc.

Now the pertinent question is, from where did the company get the data. This could be ascertained only through a detailed analysis of the software code for which one would need access to servers, according to experts and data analysts.
