Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh minister for Information and Public Relations and Rural Housing, Kalava Srinivasulu on Sunday abused a Sakshi TV journalist for covering a protest by local women from MCA layout in Rayadurgam town in the district. According to reports, the minister visited the housing layout allotted by the State government for journalists to inspect the facilities. Meanwhile, a group of women from the MCA layout, who were carrying water containers, approached the minister to complain about lack of drinking water facilities in the area.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) minister's personnel blocked the ladies from reaching him and let a man and a women address their issue to the minister. "Why did you get all these people? A few of you could come over and bring the problem to my notice. Why are you trying to embarass me by bringing all the women?" the angry minister shouted at them.

Meanwhile, Srinivasulu was irked over Sakshi TV reporter Vishnu, who was covering the scenes at the time. "Why are you shooting this? People like you join the media only to destroy the value of journalism," he shouted. The minister warned all Sakshi reporters against participating in his programs.
