Hyderabad: Telangana Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali said that the party's top leadership will decide on the pre-poll alliance with Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) Telangana outfit. Speaking to media here today, the MLC said that the party's Telangana leaders will express their views on the alliance with the TDP, ahead of the elections. Shabbir Ali suggested that there would not be a change in Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's top leadership. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party's questioning of our stand on the Special Category Status (SCS) to Telangana state is completely absurd, he said.

The Congress leader recalled that during the bifurcation of the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) said that it does not bother him if Andhra Pradesh was given an SCS or a special package. It really surprises me when Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who time and again spoke against statehood for Telangana during the agitation, questions the Congress party of its stance on SCS to Telangana. "Why are the TRS MPs not able to demand the implementation of the bifurcation promises? Did the TRS Chief approach the national parties for their implementation?" he questioned.

The TRS leaders have stopped talking about the 12% reservation promise to the Muslims in the state, the MLC alleged. "People of the state are observing the U-turn taken by the ruling party. Their efforts to evoke sentiments just before the elections will not work," he added.
