YS Jagan takes on AP govt on farmers' issues

Opposition leader and YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy slammed the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh for trying to push the farmers' issues under the carpet.

Speaking in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, the YSRCP chief said that the Government is shirking away from taking up issues affecting the common man.
YS Jagan demanded that the Government hold a discussion on the farmer's suicides in the Assembly.
Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has cut the mike of YS Jagan while he was speaking about people's issues. YS Jagan questioned the speaker for his actions.
He brought to the notice of the house that nine farmers had committed suicide in Dharamavaram of Anantapur district. " Where would we discuss this issue if the Speaker rejects our adjournment motions? Why don't we hold discussions on the issue of fee reimbursement, farm and DWCRA loan waiver and other important issues," he asked.
He found fault with the Government for reducing the duration of the Assembly sessions to 17 days from 40 days.
