Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday called for a unity among all political parties and various sections of people in Andhra Pradesh to fight for special status until it is given.

"Let's take inspiration from Jallikattu agitation for standing united for achieving our right. Special category status is the only way for us to develop the state and improve employment situation. It is shameful that the chief minister himself, instead of supporting the demand, is sabotaging a people's movement," he told reporters after returning from Vizag after.

Chandrababu should hang his head in shame for resorting such a sabotage and trampling the spirit of democracy on Republic Day which conferred on us the Constitutional rights, he said. He is so shameless that he is boasting of development when thousands of industries are closing in the state. Special status is the only way industries can be encouraged and employment will be provided to the youths of the state, he said.

Jagan appealed all the political parties and people of the state to continue the protest by participating in dharnas at all Mandal offices across the state on Friday.
