US President Donald Trump’s Approval Ratings At Historic Low Ahead of Anniversary: Poll

Washington: President Donald Trump approval ratings are sliding continuously even as the Republican president approaches the first anniversary of a historic victory where he defeated Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.

According to a survey conducted by Washington Post-ABC News, 59% of the respondents disapproved Donald Trump's handling of the presidency while a meager 37% supported his performance. According to The Washington Post after former president Harry Truman (1945-53), Trump is the first president with a net negative approval rating.

The approval ratings have been steadily declining since April 2017 for president Trump. As on that date only 58% said do not think that Trump is "honest and trustworthy" while as on date that stood at 65%. Expectations from Trump's presidency have also hit a new low. In January 2017, 61% respondents said that he would do an excellent job while the latest survey shows only 44% sticking to that stand.

The eroding faith in the working style of Donald Trump now extends to his lengthy foreign trip where he will criss-cross through Asia touching upon five countries. Only 32% of the poll respondents say that he can handle the Korean issue responsibly.
