Trainee Woman Constable Commits Suicide After Friend’s Death
Hyderabad: A woman constable undergoing training at the State Police Training Academy at Gandipet here committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room on Sunday morning.
Trainee constable Naveena who hailed from Nalgonda town was upset after hearing the news of her friend Madhavi's suicide in Miryalguda last night. Madhavi committed suicide as she was forced to marry a boy arranged by her parents against her wish. As Naveena and Madhavi were close friends since childhood, the former slipped into depression since the news came to her on Saturday night.
As Naveena did not come out of her room for the regular workouts in the morning, the staff checked the room where she was found hanging to a ceiling fan. The body was sent for a post-mortem and the Narsingi police are investigating the case.
