Tension In Film Nagar Over PJR Statue Removal

Tense situation prevailed at the Film Nagar Crossroads as the officials tried to remove the statue of former CLP leader P Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday. PJR's supporters, led by TRS corporator and PJR's daughter Vijaya, staged a sit in. The officials relented later.

The statue has been newsly installed at the Film Nagar Centre and there was a tussle between MIM corporator from Shaikpet Farazuddin and Vijaya over the unveiling of the statue. Farazuddin lodged a complaint with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and demanded that the statue be removed. Accordingly, GHMC officials tried to remove the statue. On knowing about it, Vijaya and her supporters gathered in big numbers and staged a sit in.
