HYDERABAD: The Telangana Commissionerate of Health And Family Welfare launched helpline number 108 to address Mental Health and Psychosocial problems that may arise due to the lockdown. The new initiative was announced on Friday. Telangana Minister KTR took to his twitter handle and announced the launch of this helpline number. He even added that this helpline number will be functional 24/7.

KTR said that the Telangana Government which has always placed well being of the people first has now taken up this initiative to ensure people’s emotional well-being as well. This call center will have two experienced psychiatrists, along with 53 counselors.

According to reports, the state government had selected these 53 people from the National Health Mission (NHM) program, and Indian Institute of Health and Family Welfare. The select candidates underwent three days of training and counseling over COVID-19 mental health.
