Hospital Nurses Were Watching Videos Instead Of Attending To Our Son Diagnosed With Dengue: Parents

Hyderabad: A seven-and-a-half-year-old boy died at a private hospital in Punjagutta, Hyderabad due to doctor's negligence, while undergoing treatment for dengue. Parents of the boy lodged a medical negligence complaint against Pragna Hospital management staff.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as M. Vignesh son of M. Radha who hails from Yousufguda of Hyderabad, the boy was suffering from high fever and was rushed to Pragna Hospitals In Banjara Hills on September 7. After examining his health condition, the doctors admitted him to the hospital. After performing blood tests on the boy, the doctors confirmed that he is suffering from dengue. The health condition of the boy got worse and doctors shifted him to ICU and put him on a ventilator as he was unable to breathe.

The boy's mother alleged that the nurses were busy watching videos and didn't take care of her son in the ICU. Vignesh had vomitings and the doctors, nurses didn't attend to the boy. On Thursday at about 8.30 pm, doctors declared Vignesh dead.

The boy's mother filed a case against Pragna Hospital management at the Panjagutta police station, police have started their inquiry into the case.
