AP Businessmen Turn To Telangana With New Liquor Policy

Telangana Government is focusing on liquor sale to gain huge profits and to increase the revenue of the state. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to cut down the number of liquor outlets for restricting the liquor sale in AP is all set to turn into a boon for Telangana, as the huge number of AP liquor contractors are now planning to set up their liquor business in Telangana state.

TRS plans to turn the situation in their favor by increasing the application fee for setting up of liquor shops in Telangana. TRS government plans to bring major changes in the excise policy which will come into force from October 1.

As a part of the plan, Telangana government plans to remove refundable money deposit (EMD) which is Rs. Five lakhs and at the same time they plans to increase the non-refundable application fee from One lakh to two lakhs which is double of the previous amount.

TRS government hopes that with this change of removing huge amount as refundable money deposit, they can even attract the small scale business entrepreneurs towards liquor sale, which will yield fruitful results to make huge revenue gains.

Telangana government hopes that with these changes in the excise policy and AP government decision on liquor ban, the number of people who apply for the liquor business in Telangana will surely increase.

At present, there are 2,240 liquor shops across the Telangana state, which will be greatly increased with the changes being made by the TRS government in the excise policy.
