Suryapet: Private Bus Overturns On National Highway; One Killed

Suryapet: A woman was killed in a road mishap that took place on National Highway 65 near Durgapuram of Kodad Mandal in the district. The incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday when a private travel bus turned turtle after hitting a DCM van on the National Highway.

The woman, identified as K Durgamma (62), a resident of Kukatpally in Hyderabad, succumbed to death on the spot. 30 other passengers also sustained injuries in the mishap which took place in Suryapet and were rushed to nearby hospitals. As per the details, the private travels bus was heading from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam when the vehicle rammed into the van from the rear end at Durgapuram.

After receiving the information, the Kodad police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital at Kodad for treatment. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
