Five-Year-Old Drowns In Gandipet Lake

Hyderabad: A five-year-old boy drowned in Gandipet Lake abutting Himayat Nagar village near Chilkur on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Anand who was a native of Odisha. He lived with his parents in a nearby temporary shelter. The parents worked as labourers in various construction sites.

The body was later retrieved from the lake and was sent for post-mortem. It was later handed over to the deceased boy's parents.

According to police, Anand had gone to fetch water from the canal when he slipped and fell into the water.

The police have registered a case in this regard.
