TAFRC to review the admission process and processing fee

Hyderabad: Putting an end to the false identification of the faculty for the Professional Education Courses, the Telangana government has appointed a regulatory committee (TAFRC) to review the admission process and processing fee.

From now on, the faculty will have to undergo an online verification where they are to provide PAN card and Aadhaar details.

Several colleges put forth the number of faculty members higher than the actual number. The faculty, thereby reaped in benefits with huge wages from the course fees. The faculty even failed to submit details of PAN and Aadhaar card. Also, a college utilized the details of the faculty of another college.

Details of the faculty for the B.Tech courses were shown for the faculty in the M.Tech courses.

Keeping in view of these discrepancies, the Committee has issued these new rules to prevent the colleges from falsifying information.

Accordingly, the management should be providing the PAN card and Aadhaar details of the faculty working with them and register them online. Since the processing is done by the National Informatics Center (NIC), the Aadhaar and Pan card details will also be with them.

Recently, the TAFRC issued a notification for finalization of fees for B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, B.Ed, D.Ed and other educational courses. Applications can be submitted online from January 24. Previously, audit documents were uploaded online and the cost of revenue expenses were calculated. Now, it is done online altogether. Steps are being taken not only to send documents via e-mail but also to submit the details of revenue expenses in the dashboard online. This will enable the report to be generated accordingly.

Colleges will have to implement the no-profit, no-loss method. As a result of which, the college revenue should not exceed 15% of revenue compared to college expenses. To finalize the fees for the academic years - 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, the revenue expenditures of the academic years - 2016-17, 2017-18 will be considered. The last two years will be taken into consideration because the 2018-19 academic year is not yet complete.

This time, the processing fee has been heavily increased. Earlier, the Processing Fee for the BE/B,Tech, B.Pharmacy, Pharma-D, B.Arch, B.Planning, ME/M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Planning, M.Pharmacy, Pharma-D (PB) and BFA (five year course) was finalized at Rs 11,475 for the course but it has now been increased to Rs 18,000. The course fee of MBA, MCA, BDD, LPT (LDB, LDB, LLM, BFA (three year course), B.P.ED and D.P.ED courses has been increased from Rs 5,750 to Rs 9,000 per course.
