Jagtial: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Telangana unit President L Ramana today said that State Chief Minister's official residence Pragathi Bhawan would be utilized as a public hospital after the grand alliance forms the government in the upcoming polls. The grand alliance was formed with a collective motive to protect the interests of Telangana from the dynastic rule of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

Speaking at a press conference here today, he said that the Congress-TDP-TJS-CPI grand alliance was the first step towards signalling an end to KCR's autocratic governance in the State. Showering praise on Congress party's sitting candidate from Jagtial Jeevan Reddy, he said, "Jagtial means Jeevan, Jeevan means Jagtial. Jeevan Reddy developed the constituency so much that he put the constituency in limelight."

Ramana's remarks assumes significance as it follows the TDP Chief's recent comments that he would not mind stepping down from the contest himself to pave way for faster and smoother seat-sharing process in the Congress-led grand alliance. "I would step down from the race for the Jagtial seat if Congress insists on fielding Jeevan Reddy," he said recently.

Meanwhile, the Congress leadership in the State is hopeful that the seat-sharing excercise would be wrapped up by the end of the month. Internal resistance from the TJS and the CPI over some constituencies is halting the decision on contestants, it is learnt.
