Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha member and BJP national spokesman, GVL Narsimha Rao wondered whether working president of Telangana Congress, Revanth Reddy was a politician or mafia don involved in land-grabbing activities. GVL said that after the income tax raids on Revanth Reddy and his relatives and associates, the former Congress MLA from Kodangal came out acting as a hero announcing to the media that nothing finally came out of the raids.

GVL took a dig at Revanth Reddy saying he gave a clean chit to himself. The income tax department in its report, which came out in the media, has shed more light on this, he said. The BJP Rajya Sabha member said that the report cited by the media, is only tip of the iceberg.

It was not clear whether Revanth Reddy was a politician or mafia don, he commented. GVL pointed out that as per the income tax authorities' report, Revanth Reddy's main source of income was land-grabbing and 'settlements'.

GVL observed that it was usually history-sheeters and not politicians, who indulged in such illegal activities. Such individuals were commonly portrayed as criminals in Telugu films. The BJP Rajya Sabha member pointed out that Revanth Reddy, his relatives and associates were connected with KLSR Infra-tech, a benami or proxy company of Revanth Reddy. The firm fudged accounts and showed names of fake sub contractors.

GVL recalled that in the past everyone had seen a video in which Revanth Reddy, then in the TDP, as close associate of Chandrababu, was seen handing over money to a legislator.

GVL also referred to undeclared income related to Sai Mourya Estates another infrastructure company floated by Revanth Reddy. He alleged that the TDP Rajya Sabha member, CM Ramesh, was another benami associate of Chandrababu Naidu. He asserted that recent IT raids on his offices and houses across the two Telugu states revealed this well-known fact.

The BJP leader described the Congress party as Immoral Corrupt Congress for having leaders like Revanth Reddy and that Uttam Kumar Reddy the state president, should apologise to the people of the state for admitting people like Revanth.

Referring to Congress president Rahul Gandhi's visit to Telangana, the BJP Rajya Sabha member criticised the Congress president for the party's silence on Punjab minister, and former cricketer, Navjyot Singh Sidhu comments on South India. Sidhu said that he could relate more to Pakistan than south India. In this context, GVL said that Sidhu should go to Pakistan and no one is stopping him. The Congress has not even condemned Sidhu's statement, he said asked how Rahul Gandhi could come to a state in south India, when this was the party's attitude.

GVL reminded media persons that former prime minister, PV Narsimha Rao's body was not allowed into Congress headquarters on the instructions of Sonia Gandhi. To date the Congress party has not apologized for this act. How can Rahul Gandhi visit Telangana ignoring these facts, he said, adding that Rajiv Gandhi had also humiliated T. Anjaiah.
