Telangana Leaders And Parties In Survey Mode

All political parties have embarked on a major survey spree, it is learnt. This is to assess the chances of government formation for each party, as also to see the prospects of winning and weak candidates. The social media is abuzz with a spate of survey doing the rounds. Many leaders are getting surveys done on their own as well, to get their chances of getting elected to the assembly evaluated.

The ruling TRS is learnt to have received positive feedback on the surveys it conducted. The Congress is also confident of getting a majority on the basis of feedback it has got.

The big question then remains, whose Telangana is it anyway? One cannot be sure, yet, but each party is out to ensure that it stretches its resources to the limit.

Heavyweights are likely to retain their seats. This cuts across all parties. There is no imminent threat for instance to Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Revanth Reddy from the Congress. However, the ruling TRS wants to put up strong candidates in these seats to try and get Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar, among others defeated. This may not be an easy task, but the TRS has already started making moves at strengthening the party at the booth level, it is learnt.

It is not as if the ruling TRS is free of dissent. The unhappiness of Nallala Odelu over being given the Chennur (SC) ticket which was given to Balka Suman, is but one instance. Konda Surekha of the TRS openly expressed her resentment over denial of assembly ticket and may prove to be a headache for the ruling party in the Warangal region where she enjoys a fair bit of political clout. Yesterday, Ramesh Rathod former TDP MP and TRS aspirant for the Khanapur seat meanwhile has winged his way into the Congress. There may be more such instances in the days and weeks to come.

The next few weeks will turn out to be interesting as each party seeks to consolidate its base. The Congress, meanwhile has announced that it will launch its campaign from Gajwel.
