Telangana Cabinet Decisions Ahead Of Pragati Nivedana Sabha

Hyderabad: Four cabinet ministers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Etela Rajender, Harish Rao, Jogu Ramanna and Kadiyam Srihari briefed the media over the proceedings of the cabinet meeting held here earlier today. Finance minister Etela Rajender announced that the cabinet approved a sanction of Rs 70 crores and a land of 70 acres for construction of buildings meant for housing various associations of social communities in Telangana. The meeting was held amid speculation over the announcement of advancement of Telangana Assembly elections, but the ministers said that the discussion was confined to certain pending issues and that another cabinet meeting was to be held soon.

Allotment of five more acres of land to the already sanctioned 10 acres for Reddy Hostel, increase of salaries to Gopalamitras to Rs 8,500 from 3,500, extension of temple priests' retirement age from 58 years to 65, increase in honorary salaries to Asha workers from Rs 7,500 to Rs 6,000, increase in salaries to second ANMs working in public health department from Rs 11,000 to Rs 21,000, increase in minimum payment to 9,000 NUHM workers and increase in salaries of contract doctors to Rs 40,000 were some of the decisions taken by the cabinet that was convened by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).

Asked about early polls and rolling out of welfare schemes, the ministers said that further decisions would be taken in another cabinet meet.
