Tension prevailed at the Osmania University (OU) campus on Sunday when scores of students clashed with police which lobbed teargas shells to disperse the protesters.
According to reports, trouble started when the police stopped the students at the OU entrance. The cops tried to stop the students from taking out a rally and lay siege to Raj Bhavan to demand Governor E S L Narasimhan's resignation. There was heated argument between students and police. Some of them even started pelting stones at the police. This led to the police firing teargas shells on the protesters.
The student leaders alleged that four students were injured in police lathicharge.
