How Much Did Andy Murray Earn In His Entire Career?

British tennis professional Andy Murray shocked the tennis world on Friday by announcing a premature retirement from the game. After having won three Grand Slam titles and standing second on six occasions, Murray earned the reputation of being one of the UK's best ever tennis players. Although he is yet to make an official announcement, he is believed to do so after giving one last attempt for glory at Wimbledon.

His achievements aside, one would wonder as to how much money would Murray have earned in his long and remarkable career. That the Sunday Times Rich List estimated the tennis player's wealth to be around £83million in 2018 speaks volumes about his wealth. In the year 2016, Murray peaked in his career both performance-wise and earnings-wise. He notched up a winning amount of £12.75million on the whole, thanks to £2million prize money he earned from the Wimbledon title that year.

It is estimated that the total career earnings of Murray would sum up to £150million, £47.9million of which were said to have been earned from private endorsements and promotional events. The year 2018 marked a dip in the British player's career with a series of injuries and his hip problem, which requires surgery. He had also participated in charitable events.
