Spirit of Telangana Facebook Page Admin Prashant Detained

Hyderabad: The arrest of Facebook page Spirit of Telangana admin, Prashant has drawn flak online with netizens demanding his release. The hashtag #releaseprashant was trending online.

Prashant who was picked up on Monday from his office by Hyderabad Commissioner's Task Force for allegedly posting comments against the ruling K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s government.

It is learnt that a few days ago, Prashant and his team made comments on social page against the TRS government’s loopholes following which he was detained. The officials who picked him up were plain clothesman.

Notable Opposition leaders like Dr Sravan Dasoju to Revanth Reddy among others, have condemned the act and questioned TRS government about suppressing those raising their voices against the government. The page is handled by six people in total including Prashant, out of which four are NRIs.

"Prashant hails from a poor family and he is using words as his weapon. Staying in a simple room without taking salary, he is exposing the losses that are happening due to the present government. He must be released immediately,” posted a user on the Facebook page.

While, one of the admin came up with an online video saying Prashant was detained for exposing certain irregularities by a minister in Suryapet. The admin went on to add that such things will not make them weak in fact they will continue to fight against corrupt people.

Prashant, who was detained on Monday evening, was later let off. He might be called on again for questioning today.
