Sitaram Yechury- General secretary of CPI-M

Sitaram Yechury has been unanimously elected as the party General secretary of CPI-M in the 21 all-party meeting be held at Vizag on April 19.

Though an other veteran from the party Ramchandra pillai stood in elections for the presidential post, The party cadre decided to  stand by Sitaram Yechury. So Ramchandra pillai with drew his nomination making Sitaram Yechury, the unanimous elected for the top post succeeding Parkash Karat. A polite bureau of 16 member were also announced by the present General secretary of the party, Parakash Karat.

Sitaram Yechury after the formal announcement of his new role in the party said he would do his best to strengthen the communists and also strive hard to support the needy. He also added that he and the party would play a key role in questioning the Modi government of it set backs and flaws.
