Scindia promises gas, coal for power projects

Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia on Thursday said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had sought supply of gas from KG basin and coal for thermal plants in the wake of severe power crisis prevailed in the State.

Scindia said the proposal was under consideration and a decision would be taken after approval from the Cabinet ministers. Request for more coal supply for NTPP power plants was under active consideration, he said and added that synchronizing of southern grid with the national grid was in the process and it was expected to be completed by next year. Replying to a query, Jyotiradiya Scindia said 395 MW of power was allocated to AP.
