‘Ram Gopal Varma movies inspired me to kill them’

Nellore: A dreaded perpetrator of serial killings - Kukkapalli Venkateswarlu - was arrested by police who had killed a women and an elderly person with a hammer at the children’s park road on Saturday. When the person was trying to kill two more people, in broad daylight in the area, residents caught him and handed over to police.

During the interrogation, Venkateswarlu told police that he got inspired from Ram Gopal Verma’s films and entered the victims’ house in the guise of mechanic of set-top boxes or seeking their Aadhar details.

The accused said that he considers Ram Gopal Verma as his idol and has watched all his movies umpteen number of times. The accused further said that he imagined some the brutal scenes in a film and re-enacted those scene in real life. So far, the accused had taken lives of four people in Nellore.

The accused belongs to Kondapuram mandal in Nellore.
