People Throng Chittoor’s Rangampeta To Witness Jallikattu 

Chittoor: The traditional sport of Jallikattu attracted thousands of people in Rangampeta of Chandragiri constituency, on Tuesday.

Scores of farmers brought their cattle to Rangampeta in the wee hours of Tuesday to participate in the annual event that is held on the third day of the Sankranthi festival. According to reports, people from Chandragiri, Tirupati, Chittoor town and from other parts of Andhra Pradesh arrived in droves to witness the sport. People occupied every possible space along the Jallikattu route including rooftops, walls and trees to get a better vantage point for the event. Some farmers tied small trophies to the cattle and youth vied with each other to grab the trophy from the raging cattle and declare their bravado.
