One drowns in Godavari

One person on Sunday drowned while taking a dip in Goadavari river in Karimnagar, police said.

Three persons from Hyderabad had gone to have a bath in the river near Kaleshwaram temple under Mahadevpur police station limits this morning.

While all the three slipped in deep water, two of them were rescued by local swimmers. The deceased was identified as G Eeshwaraiah (52), police said. The body has been sent for postmortem while further investigation was on, they added.
